Dialogue of migrant groups through media in Israel

Gordon Academic College for Education

Course Designer and Lecturer: Dr. Evana Ratner & Mr. Yair Gil

Course Description:

Media has the power to foster empathy towards the others’ narrative, because it tells personal stories that are difficult to argue with. Creating a collaborative and yet personal video offers a space where people’s stories can be told. The course enables students to explore their own and their families' migration stories or investigate and give voice to stories of other migrants. There are three stages in the course: a theoretical one, a methodological one and a practical one. In each stage students learn, study and inquire, and by the end of the course they create a short media project on migrants' lives.
